Now possibly in its fifth year, this running meet is open to all. Whilst there is a
keenness for youth to attend and gain experience beyond the moors and bogs of the
Peak District, this meet is most definitely open to all. There are typically a variety of
outings on both days: short or long; local or further afield; tame or rough and rugged.
It’s certainly not out of the realms of possibility to get a Paddy reccy or two in. North
Wales has a fantastic range of options and some utterly fantastic outings. So much less
trendy than Lakeland running, this is just the excuse you needed to get away for a
weekend with a varied crowd of likeminded fools souls.
Obviously, we’ll be blessed with bright, crisp and cold weather, so a good selection
of gear is inevitably necessary. For new devotees it is probably possible to beg and
borrow some extra gear, such as a bigger mountain pack, or tougher waterproofs, so
let me know if you are lacking well in advance.
This meet typically attracts guests who become future members, so get in on the
ground floor and come meet the prospects for the next generation.
Accompanied 16 and 17 year olds can probably be accommodated by arrangement.
On the Saturday evening we’ll have a communal vegetarian curry.
